For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Luke Tierney and I’m into moving images x sounds. A short film if you will.
Why the blog? Well, I used to throw hours away in front of the TV but instead of watching the same old repeats of friends (don’t get me wrong friends is badboy), I’d watch/listen to the Top Music Movie Classics, as be honest with yourself, do you not love Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” for Dangerous Minds, Michael Sembello’s “Maniac” for Flashdance and Des’ree’s “Kissing You” for Romeo and Juliet!?. Hours were lounged this way.
I don’t regret a second spent on that sofa but it got to a point where it was the same, standardised bull and the worst part was they fixed it so they all had advert breaks at the same time. I wrote a letter. No response. Those chubby tabbies thought they had won but fortunately the internet came to my rescue and I’ve been silently happy ever since.
Some artists get the chance to make classic music videos, others aren’t so lucky and then you have the special few who are so engrossed by their own bubble they can just about do what ever they want. This is all thanks to the talent of the director and their team who shall be remembered.
Visuals can add or detract but a select few can make you watch a song repeatedly, just because. GREAT music videos do exist. Whether its from the indie band who has nothing to lose, the djs who are starting to find a face, or the kings/queens of the modern music world, here are some of my favourites. word is cheap.
